Apex Biotechnology Corp. was founded in 1997 and is the first publicly listed biotechnology stock in Taiwan. ApexBio is one of the first companies in the world to successfully develop and commercialize biosensor-based blood glucose monitoring system, right behind well known large pharmaceutical companies that dominate the market. ApexBio enjoys a steady growth during its first decade, and the sales revenue increased 2,000% from 1997 to 2006. ApexBio was voted as “200 Best under a billon” by Forbes Asia three years in a row from 2006 to 2008.

ApexBio manufactures all blood glucose monitoring products in ISO13485 and GMP approved facilities, and is the first manufacturer from Taiwan to receive 510(k) clearance from the U.S. FDA to sell in the U.S.  Now ApexBio’s blood glucose monitoring products have received regulatory recognition worldwide, including the FDA in the U.S, CE from EU, PMDA in Japan, and SFDA in China. ApexBio subsequently passed two FDA onsite inspections in 2001 and 2006 with no deviations found, and is still the first blood glucose manufacturing company in Taiwan to hold such record.
